Event: Jingle Your Bells at Wolf Trap This Sunday, December 6

At  4 p.m., don’t miss the Wolf Trap Sing-a-Long (Vienna, VA) on Sunday, December 6 with music from the U.S. Marine Corps Band and area choirs.  If you can handle the crowds and waiting a bit, you and  your children will love this annual tradition.  The best strategy is to go early because this is tremendously popular event at the outdoor venue and parking is always a little challenging.  Dress warmly, bring a picnic blanket, and expect to wait quite a bit when leaving the parking area, so also bring your patience and make sure no needs to go to the bathroom before you get in the car.

The seating is first-come, first serve in-house, or on your picnic blanket on the lawn.  There is handicapped seating.  Everyone brings a bell for ringing during “Jingle Bells.”

They usually sell coffee, cocoa, and cookies, and you can also bring food and beverages.

The most moving part of this event is the final song, which is Silent Night. Everyone is given a candle, and the light is passed from neighbor to neighbor.  The crowd exits singing this song while holding candles.  It is breathtaking.

Wolf Trap is collecting new, unwrapped toys at this event for Toys for Tots.

Here’s a video clip!  As you can see, Santa hats are de rigeur for this event! 🙂
